Touw River lagoon – the rivers edge boardwalk is an easy stroll which is ideal for birding, watching fish or merely indulging in some quiet contemplation to round off the day. The walkway, in the Garden Route, meanders along the lagoon edge and passes through reed beds and under Milkwoods and shows how closely the community of Wilderness is integrated with the wildness and wildlife of the Garden Route National Park. It is also a perfect short walk to build up an appetite before dinning at one of the many restaurants in the the village.
To get to the boardwalk, turn into the village of Wilderness from the N2 on to George Rd. Drive through the village to the traffic circle, take the second exit from the circle and drive east along Waterside Rd. After 300m you will see the start of the boardwalk.
