Sunrise landscape – Lake Pleasant.

Viewed from one of the highest vegetated fossil dunes in South Africa, Lake Pleasant is spectacular.

Dawn patrol in Sedgefield – overlooking Lake Pleasant, one of five coastal lakes in the Garden Route, at sunrise is always a rewarding way to start the day. There are two ways to reach the view point in the Goukamma Nature Reserve, just east of Sedgefield. Drive to the eastern entrance of the reserve and walk the path along the edge of the lake and the walk up the Blombos trail. Alternatively, drive towards Platbank and turn left at the second road. Park,  and walk till you reach the path crossing the Jeep track, turn left onto the path and continue till you are looking down on the lake.
